Rev. Dr. Frank Marangos is the Dean of the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New York City, an institution and national cathedral of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. Preceding this he served as the Executive Director of Communications for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese and as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Homiletics at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology. He was the Archdiocesan Director of Religious Education from 1997 to 2006 and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Religious Education at Holy Cross from 1999 to 2007. He is presently an Adjunct Assistant Professor at St. John’s University in New York City. He is the founder and director of the Internet School of Orthodox Studies (ISOS) for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese and the founder and former executive editor and publisher of Praxis Magazine, a publication of the Archdiocese Department of Religious Education.

Father Marangos is a 1979 honors graduate of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology (M. Div.) and received his BA from Hellenic College. He received a doctoral degree (Ed.D.) with honors in Adult Education from Nova Southeastern University, Fischler Graduate School of Education and Human Services, Miami, Florida (2002) and a doctoral degree (D. Min.) with honors from Perkins School of Theology, SMU, Dallas, Texas in Christian Education (1986). Father Marangos is certified as a Distance Learning Leader from the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA).

He served as the Director of Religious Education for the Atlanta Diocese 1987-1997 and the Youth Director for the Denver Diocese from 1981-1983. Father Marangos was adjunct professor of Orthodox Studies at Saint Vincent DePaul Seminary, Boynton Beach, Florida, and established the School of Orthodox Studies through Palm Beach Community College in Boca Raton, Florida.

Father Marangos served as pastor of St. Mark Greek Orthodox Church, Boca Raton, Florida (1989-1997) where he oversaw the design and construction of a $5 million 700-seat sanctuary. He also served the parishes of Pensacola, Florida (1983-1989) and Houston, Texas (1979-1983). He was ordained to the Diaconate in January 1979 and to the Priesthood in June 1979.

In addition to authoring articles for books and theological publications, Father Marangos has wide experience as a keynote speaker at parish, metropolis, YAL, and theological conferences. He has developed several educational, interactive CD-ROMs and is the author of the CANA Teenage Curriculum Model for the Archdiocese. He conducts weekend religious education seminars, leadership development programs, parish strategic planning, and stewardship fundraising programs, retreats, and teacher training workshops throughout the Archdiocese.

Father Marangos is a member of the editorial board of the Christian Higher Education journal, a member of the National Council of Churches USA Communication Commission, the Religion Communicators Council, the American Society of Curriculum Developers, the Orthodox Theological Society in America, and the Phi Gamma Sigma International Professional Society of the Fischler Graduate School at Nova Southeastern University.

Most recently, on April 26, 2010, as the spiritual leader of FOS (Forum on Orthodox Spirituality), a ministry for Orthodox young adult professionals in the Manhattan area, he and FOS were honored with a Proclamation by the City Council of New York for their outstanding contributions to the Hellenic Community and to all of New York City.
