Храм Успения Пресвятой Богородицы (Орадя)

Biserica cu Lună — Oradea — Catedrală ortodoxă cu hramul “Adormirea Maicii Domnului”, monument istoric zidit între anii 1784-1790 de către arhitectul Iakob Eder.

•Biserica devine catedrală episcopală la 2 octombrie 1921, prin reînfiinţarea vechii Episcopii Ortodoxe Române a Oradiei, arhipăstorită de Episcopul Roman Ciorogariu.
• Iconostasul (1816-1831) şi vechea pictură au fost executate de fraţii Alexandru şi Arsenie Teodorovici .Portretul lui Horea eroul revoluţiei din 1784 se află aşezat deasupra iconostasului.
• În anul 1793 se instalează în turnul bisericii Orologiul şi Luna, fiind opera unui inventiv şi iscusit mecanic orădean Georg Rueppe. Mecanismul este astfel conceput încât luna face o rotaţie completă în jurul axei sale, în 28 de zile indicând astfel fazele lunii.
• În biserică odihnesc rămăşiţele trupeşti ale episcopilor Roman Ciorogariu , Nicolae Popovici şi Vasile Coman , alături de ctitorii Mihai Cristof şi Mihai Puşpechi.
• Actuala pictură în frescă a fost executată de către renumitul pictor Eremia Profeta între anii 1977-1979 şi restaurată în 2000-2001 de către pictorul Marian Verza.
• Biserica deţine şi o colecţie muzeală de obiecte bisericeşti aflate în muzeul «Roman Ciorogariu», din curtea bisericii.
• Din pictura veche se mai păstrează icoanele de pe catapeteasmă, cea de pe scaunul arhieresc, amvon şi de pe cele două strane.

The Moon Church — Oradea — The Ortodox Cathedral patronated by the resting of the Mother of Jesus Christ is a historical monument built between the years 1784 and 1790by the arhitect Iacob Eder.
Ub 1793, in the tour of the church the clock and the «Moon», the works of an ingenious mecanic from Oradea,Georg Rueppe, are installed. The mechanism of the «Moon»is designed so that it spins aroud in 28 days time showing the four stages of the moon.
The actual fresca was done by the painter Eremia Profeta
between the years 1977 and 1979.

Die Mondkirche von Oradea ist eine ortodoxische Kathedrale unter dem Schutzheilingen «Entschlafen der Heiligen Maria» — Mutter imseres Herrn Jesus Christus» und gleichzeiting ein historisches Denkmal, das zwischen den Jahren 1784-1790, von dem Architekten Jakob Eder aufgebaut worden ist.
Im Jahre 1793 wurde im Kirchenturm die Turmuhr und der technisch-und kunstlich hergestellte Mond aufmontiert, was Werk eines Feinmechanikers, einer der geschickten Erfinder der damaligen Zeit Oradeas, auf den Namen Georg Rueppe, ist. Das Mechanismus dieses Kunstmondes ist solcher Weise aufgebaut worden, daB der Mond vom Turm eine ganze Umdrehung — um sein Axe herum — in 28Tagedurchfuhrt, hinweisend die Mondumdrehungsphasen.
Die Innengemalde der Kirche sind Werk eines beruhmten Malers Eremia PROFETA, die zwischen den Jahren 1977-1979 durchgefuhrt worden sind.
